Drapolene cream contains two active ingredients, benzalkonium chloride and cetrimide. Both of these have antiseptic and disinfectant actions. Drapolene cream also contains a mixture of white soft paraffin, wool fat and cetyl alcohol that produces a greasy moisturiser. It works by providing a layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. This combination of ingredients results in a protective cream which cools and soothes any soreness and prevents infection. It is suitable for the treatment of urinary rash, nappy rash in children and for treating minor wounds.For nappy rash
