What is good character, and how can I foster it in my child?

Good character can be described as the internalised motivation to do what’s right, regardless of the situation and cost. Honesty, respect, responsibility, compassion and courage are some traits, which must be constantly cultivated, she adds.

These activities can help to foster such development:

1. Volunteering is a two-way street that benefits those who give as well as those who receive. When your child is a volunteer, he has the opportunity to practise compassion and respect, and learn to adopt a positive attitude.
